I think you will find all of the above have been used.

Are you going to map it yourself?

no i definately wont be mapping it myself. lol

i have been thinkin of doing it for a while.
then i thought about going dizzyless on the l8, but then by the time ive done that and paid for mapping its not much cheaper than buying new management.

ideally id like,
coil on plug or wasted spark at least
launch control
boost control changing with each gear
als ( not essential but you know)
nitrous control (again just incase)

but if i got 1 of the cheaper ecus like an omex i wouldnt know who to use to map it, and id like to go to some1 experienced on cossies but i can really afford pectel or autronics.

I use omex on mine now, and a few others i have build, works REALLY REALLY good, but autronic, the new sweedish NIRA I3+, and some others i have messed arround with is all very good also

thats most ecus described from cheap to exspensive there are plenty of omex/dta/emerald mappers about stu i dont really think that just because its a cossie will issue for mappng unless its a very high spec motor thatr needs attention whilst mapping

T6 is very expensive, what you do get is good build, but not much extra to anything else listed

The point I am trying to make is unless your building a race or rally car for proper compition there is no need for a T6

when you say auto matic gear control ??
well it may be the same but
als launch control traction control
full throttle gear shift, revs per gear + boost per gear iirc
obviously then all the base fuel, ign, boost maps
then your multi maps
global maps.. ie global fuel adders water/battery blah blah
12 position boost control
twin maps ie race and super
talks with monitors
there is sooooooo much i really cant remember but i will add as i think of them !

thanks Jimbo, but I can tell you 99% of those functions of covered by 97% of the above ECU's.

even MS may have even more as more and more people make ad -on's and software for them.

The major plus point with T6 is its a trusted and well know Motor sport ecu. Is it any more advanced than the above ecu's, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I think no.

i think its the way the ecu mapping is done which is quite appealing

t6 uses revs throttle angle and map or boost i think
other ecus dont use this
so sown to whos mapping and what they prefer at the end of the day i guess

T6 can be had for not much these days too. I sold mine for Ł800. T6 2000 will be a little more expensive.

Cheaper ECU's are cheap for a reason. They have less development put into them. Although they have plenty of features, how well do they do it and how accurately can they do it and what engine protection measures do they have to make sure you don't cook your engine and turbo.

T6 2000. Great piece of kit and easy to use.

Couple of other bits it does that I dont see above

EGR
Gear Position
BMW VANOS Control
Variable Valve Timning
Individual Cylinder Trim
Start Line Strategies
Pit Lane Speed
Rain Light Outputs
Fan Control
Shift Lights
Error Lights
Thermostat Control
4 Wheel Speed Input
Throttle Blip
Turbine Speed
Low Turbine Speed Warnings
4 position Boost (not 12 Jimbo) I think
Lap Beacon
Twin Lampda

About 1 million sensor inputs and engine protection related to most of the above.

Sure there is more and Gareth will know them all!

T6 does not allow 12 position boost control, only 3 points.

T6 are very good as are 99% of aftermarket ecu's, ecu's are only as good as the mapper, t6 is pub talk most of the time as 90% of people don't use the features it has over other cheaper ecu's.

Its four! 0, 1, 2 and 3

.......and you can map gear position to any of those 4 points for gear specific boost control.
