Exclamation New S2 Rst Just Got Home

HI all

Few minor issues and questions

when i put the lights on main beam the drivers side light works and just the leftside indicator glows?

car starts up very week like the battery is flat then just kicks in altho sometimes it drains the bat and i have to use jump leads

the indicators wont work with main lights on ?

with the lights off the indicators sometimes the indicator stalk plug needs a wiggle before they will work

all of the above seem to suggest its this stalk thats at fault please advise?

the car has "running in oil" at the moment and i've been told it needs another 700 miles on this?

also all the turbo and downpipe has been wrapped in stuff and it stinks? he said this was to keep the heat off the alt?

i really want to sort these jobs out asap so i can drive it to work with a big cheesy grin on me face

please help and advise

Hi Essex Racer

turned out it was the starter I bought a new one and used an alternator heat sheild to protect it and it works well

now finding the gearbox is a bit whiney and wondering if changing the oil would help

changing the oil may help but it sounds if your box or differential is on the way out.

cheers T

Reason I said oil is that he said the box was a re-con although me suspects it was just a con

the cars a good start tho it was re-shelled in 98 with a brand new one from ford, the cars never had a welder near it.

Hello, where did you get her from? Looks like one my mate had down in essex.

The indicator problem sounds like an earth problem, check all the earth straps near the head lamps.
