audi S3's anyone got one or clued up on them?
ive been thinking of buying a new car for a while now and this is top of my list.
im going to sell my car which i should see around 3k for. im looking to spend around 6-7k on the new one.
you can pick the old shape s3 up for that money on something like a v plate.
are they good cars and is there anything i should be looking out for when viewing them?
i also heard a re map can work wonders with them, is there much truth in that?
any general info would be great.

im going to keep the nova turbo, its the mg that will be going. i need an everyday car to get me to and from work everyday.
ive always loved the cars and as a 1.8t im sure if driven reasonably it wont be to bad on juice and being a 6 speed also.
dont need to be crazy fast, just a good looking, fun, reliable car that can keep a smile on my face.
AJ u sure he wont mind me pestering him?

had it for over 4 years now and still really like it tbh, handles alright and aint gone wrong in the 55000 miles i've done in it.
just want something with some more toys, air con and goes faster.

the seat leon or ibiza was the next on the list, i like them but prefer the audi.
if everyone had come on saying the engines blow up and 4x4 system is nothing but greif i'd start looking into the seats.
i know the s3 is still fairly subtle but i still love just abot everything about it.

I drove a Leon Cupra R 225 when they were new and couldn't believe how well it put the power down being FWD with the ESP turned off.. compared to the S3 I was in, it seems much more involving to drive, I would seriously consider one if I wanted a reliable and quick day-to-day car.
The 4WD system is meant to be a bit lazy, its not 'proper' permanent Quattro, more of a re-active system that will send power to the back once the front senses slip. Pretty sure you can get a Haldex Controller to adjust the power distribution for them.. whether this makes a noticeable difference I'm not sure.
Cheers,
Grant
