i saw a thread where your car was at martins,so you now didnt want this turbo,

that is a good price, not as cheap as people think from the states unless you can get round customs tax. its all dependant where you buy from i didnt have much choice with vendor and got stung !

Thats ok, this turbo was agreed weeks ago that l was buying it, rod has trown his toys out the pram because l have been to Martins and now would like me to move tuners as he wants me out of the MAD camp, sorry Rod marks my engine and tuner deal with it .

Must say I spotted it on a thread the other day that Rod mentioned he felt you were not wanting the turbo any more. So hardly a surprise he has put it up for sale TBH.

Doesn't help that one day your keeping the car, then next breaking it. Don't even think you know whats going on.

The post I saw from Rod (not got time to hoof through the search function), gave the impression you had agreed to buy, then you changed your mind, which messed Rod about as he could of sold elsewhere. He was only made aware you didn't want it when he read on here. Hwence why this post popped up?

If that is the case you can understand why he is annoyed.

Properly hate seeing you lads fall out, I think of Dave/Rod as two of my best friends in the ford scene, and to see you bitching over essentially nothing is really unpleasant.

Dave, Rod is obviously pretty upset at what he sees as you knocking back Mark because you've gone to Martin and what happened with the whole sorry Bruce Read saga, but he is TOTALLY missing the point that you are only going to Martin for things that Mark either doesnt do, or cant fit you in for in a reasonable time scale, and that you still have exactly as much respect for Mark as a tuner/builder of engines as you always have, and have no intention of letting anyone else touch your engine but him!


Personally, I think you should both totally stop communicating via the internet, as I think its too easy to take the wrong way, and doesnt work at all well for you guys, and we should all just have a pint and a sensible chat about the whole thing.

Why would I say anything to get Dave away from MAD?? Anyhow all I did for Dave was to re-set his rear camber and flare his rear arches slightly, I did tell him that once it was a running driving car again to bring it back and I would set the geometry and corner weight it. I even told Dave that I would do this on a Saturday so that he could drive it away the same day so he wouldn't get in trouble for leaving a MAD engined car at Reyland HQ!!

I reckon that you are a very sad and bitter guy and that you do as much to harm Marks business as you do to promote it with your car.

Dave is a nice guy so why treat him like shit??

 

Oh, and for those calling Rod childish, he's an old man who's got very old fashioned views on things like loyalty, he's also had all sorts of heart problems and other shit and if he is a bit of a grumpy old man at times (which even as one of his friends I can see why people think that from what he posts online sometimes, his online persona is TERRIBLE and nothing like the real rod at all) then fine dislike him for it if you want but you are totally missing what Rod is really like.
The reality is that Rod is a really great guy and a true petrol head and a properly inspiring guy when you think of what he has been through (according to the doctors he shouldnt have even been alive still, let alone driving, and let alone doing 200) and still be as much of a hardcore petrol head as any of the young'uns on this site, he's just "rubbish at the internet" thats all, and who can really blame him when for the first 55 years or so of his life it didnt exist, you know what they say about old dogs and new tricks after all

Totally agree chip, at the end of the day my engine builder and tuner is mark and nothing going to change that, but l will not be told where l can and cant go. This post was posted to have a go but now it backfired on Rod.

He knew l wanted that turbo but decided to post up here for sale after we had agreed a price

I don't accept that his age or the fact the internet wasn't around for most of his life is any excuse whatsoever for the PM he sent Dave (btw there are others and I have seen them!), I am convinced that Rod knows exactly what he's saying. Fair play for defending him though Chip!

 

Ok will post my outlook on it all.

Really disapointed in Rod's Pm's if i'm honest and his attitude towards myself and Dave, I had full respect for Rod before all this, now i have very little and i really dont even want to bother. I wont be spoken to like that if it is in a PM or to my face. Dont see why i should be.

Mark will always be engine tuner for YUM, as we have never not been happy with the work he has done. And he will contine working on YUM to get her back up and running and back to us.

Martin has also been very helpful with things on YUM which both me and Dave apreciate fully and are happy with the work he has done.

Dave and myself will use who we want on our cars, and i certainly will not be told where we can and can not go to !

 

I have to agre with Martin there, Rod knows EXACTLY what he is typing, he has it in for Martin clearly. He speaks for Mark like he is the boss or something ?! definately not doing Mark any favours going on like that.
