saff cossie 4x4 sump gasket

Default saff cossie 4x4 sump gasket

is there any easier way to remove the sump and reseal it on a saff cossie 4x4 without taking the engine out.if so how have people done this.

you can remove the subframe with the steering rack etc still attached to it, its a shit load of work though, about 6 hours & a pain in the arse!
the sump on a 4x4 dosn't have a gasket, it has 2 rubber seals, 1 on eack end, the rest is just sealer, make sure you use a good sealer, 3 bond etc

I must admit it looks a right chew on to do. I had my car on the ramp the other week fitting tyres and a general check over. I used a bit of brake cleaner to clean a bit of oil off the sides of the engine and since then its started to leak out of the side of the sump gasket.I think the brake cleaner must of done something to the silicone sealer. Is there any cossies out there that dont leak oil?I wish mine didnt lol.

I know they dont have a sump gasket,its sylicone sealer.

i took my car today to have a look at the oil leak. I removed the started motor and found the oil leak coming from the oil pressure switch. So it wasnt the sump thank god. Replaced switch and its sweet as a nut now. Thanks for your help people.
