Default Holy smokes! Help!

The car hasn't been very healty as some might know from one of my previous Threads. Car has stood for well over a week without running. Yesterday I couldn't even start it. So today I removed the multiplugs and soldered the wires. I also cleaned the plug to the lambdasensor and checked the plugs (what gap should I run? No mods to the engine..) took the lead off the battery for about half an hour to reset the ecu (if possible on the P8?)
The car fired straight up. Tickover just below 1k.

And NOW!! White smoke on tickover, and loads more when I give it some throttle. I didn't notice anything before. It hasn't been running atleast for the past week..

Thoughts?

Well now it's fine actually. That's a relief. But it it didn't cure the original problems. Comes on boost and cuts out on 4k in every gear. Even when given light throttle i.e no boost. And the oilpressure gauge has got a short somewhere now. peaks when ignition is on.

Hi maybe worth changing the fuel filter and checking the pressure.
Is it a small or large turbo engine? Also worth checking the timing and poss of dissy etc, try the plugs at about 0.7mm.
Good luck steve.

the 4K rev limit means it IS in limp mode, and will return once the faulty sensor or fixed.

if it starts and runs but in limp it can only be 3 or 4 sensors, coolant temp, charge temp or lambda, if it were crank or phase, it wouldn't start.

the white smoke will have been steam, if the car had been warm then left outside in the cold it will have condensed a lot of water vapour in the exhaust - nothing to worry about.

Changed the act. it looked really bad actually.. but no difference. Do I have to reset the ecu after fitting the new sensor? Might boil down to lambda this i suppose.. doh..

So have you changed the blue water temp sensor as well?

I would be looking at the lambda signal or phase sensor personally.

so the car can start even if the phase sensor is knackered? Can I measure the lambda in an easy way? Voltage output maybe?

the lambda looks very grey and rattles when shaken btw.. I'm no lambda expert but I guess that isn't good.
