Default ZVH black top????

Has any one done a ZVH with a black top 2ltr......
i got an engine with only 30k stripped it down to find the water pump
hole is too small and conversion plates dont fit.
i thought about an external pump but then the timing belt wouldnt fit,
other options are to make a custom housing for the pump and tensioner,

any help please

Thanks Martin

Default zvh

Like myself I am building a zvh out of a blacktop zetec engine. My tactic is to place the conversion plate were it should go and then enlarge the hole to the size of the conversion plate. This should then let you use the CVH water pump.

Reminds me of a joke:
What file do you use to make a small hole into a large hole?

The only thing that's the same between a silver and black top engine is the crank

Had a brain wave (lol) and decided to cut a hole into the block for the cvh water pump
and use a adaptor plate to block whats left of the small hole (for the old zetec pump)
will post pics soon.

This would be very helpful.
What tool will you be using to cut the new hole?

Default Nice one.

Cool nice one for that, Just bought by pistons and while i wait for that shall drill my block. Should be fun.

This might be a daft question but are the pistons out of a 1.8 silver top the same as the ones out of the 2.0 silvertop.
