my mate has a d reg 3 door wiv 45 k on the clock frm new and he has taken it 2 norris motorsport 4 a check up ect and they ave told him the gearbox wants a rebuild why does it want 1? he doesnt dricve it fast all the time tho r the bad boxs then? its runing 330 bhp cheers sean2k

 

Norris is a respected tuner, give him a bell and ask whats up with it and why it needs a rebuild.

He will tell you why and why its justified to get it rebuilt....he wouldnt suggest it if it wasn't required.

It might have only covered 45k mate but its getting old now if its the original box from the car.

Might not be to do with mileage but how the car is driven. Does you mate slam through the cogs beating the synchros or anything?

Well I would 100% trust Karls judgement, he diagnosed the problem with my car I followed his advise to the letter and have a better car because of it. I was getting fed up with it to be honest until I took his advice.

 

My cars on its 3rd grearbox (that i know of ) and its only got 49K on it lol

It all depends on who owned it previously and how they drove it.

 

3 rd box already u ave had it bad ant ya? it drives so nice 2 pulls really hard in all gears

 

my box is fooked.. and my cars only covered 25k,
