i doubt it, as it must still be on something which is on the road, unless hes tied it to a tree, tho thats probably still council property!

the car being on a trailer doesnt count as on the road even though the trailer is on the road.
if a dvla anpr van didnt do anything then it must be ok.

they can still stick a wheel clamp for no visible road tax even if there is no number plate.

You arent allowed to use the road for storing of random objects, so even if it was true that it wouldnt need road fund license, it still wouldnt be legal, much like building a shed on the road wouldnt be.

So its either a vehicle and needs tax, or its an obstruction and the council need to remove and dispose of it.

If an untaxed car is on a trailer attached to a taxed vehicle though, its perfectly legal, wether parked or in use, providing its of a weight legal to be towed by the tow car in question etc.

surely it'd be easier to just tax it than piss about trying to find a loophole to allow it to be parked on the road

Worst Advice Ever! I'm sure if he was going to be using the car it would be taxted, if not, waste of his money.

But how do you know that the dvla haven't done anything about it though? Just because they haven't put anything on the car or through letterbox. They could be back in a weeks time & clamp it, tow it, crush it, etc, or worst case scenario could decide to wait & see exactly how long he leaves it there like that for & then say in 3 or 4 months time decide to prosecute for failing to tax car for x months, obstruction to public highway, etc

Fact is if the car isnt taxed or road legal than it shouldnt be physically on the road, driven, parked or otherwise

why would they do that when their usual course of action is to clamp first and ask questions later?
and their computer system knows when it was last taxed for back dating.
