Default Wheel Alignment Figures Cosworth

Was wondering if anyone knows what the wheel alignment figures are on Sapphire Cosworth 4x4.

Taken it to my local garage but they don,t know what it should be as they have lost the book with all the figures in. Cheers

Don't set it up to Ford figures anyway, as it will wander all over the place.

Front:
Camber: 1.5° negative
Toe-in: 2mm overall
Caster: As close to 3°30 as you can get.

Rear:
Not adjustable, but you want:
Camber: As front
Toe-in: 3mm overall.

The above is for all road going Cossies.

The only difference with the 3dr is the extended knuckles which raises the roll centre at the front to a more comparable figure to the rear. This also gives more direct turn in, which the toe-in will help calm down, as well as making the car more stable at speed.

You can improve the front end stability on a 3dr further by fitting the 2wd front ARB (stamped H14 instead of H13). Some 3drs already have this done. Check out the recent 3dr stability thread .

It depends what adjustibility you have (TCAs / top mounts etc) as well as how aggressive you want it.

If you want to see how I have set mine up, check out my resto post .

Mike I thought the rear was 1.5°-2° negative camber?

Shouldn't think it matters a great deal from konis to whatever else, but if you've modded something to make anything ont he list adjustable, then set it to what it says above! As std you can only do front toe!

I got my tracking done this morning and just set it to standard settings and my problems seem to be cured.

The car had only been set by eye and one side was toeing out and the other toeing in to think I did nearly 190 with the tracking like this!

Funny thing was that the car resisted understeer pretty well like this and now its set properly it understeers like fuck again

Mike, what settings to try and cure understeer? or is it impossible without changing the camber?

What he said, along with some 3dr front hubs and TCAs.

If you have set it to the factory parrallel settings, yo may find it will tramline and follow cambers in the road quite badly. Some toe-in gives the car better stability.
