The axle im running is a toyota hilux with an 8" diff
Which is quite a heavy item to say the least ( took 2 of us to lift it of the work bench )
Im after something lighter and bullet proof
Any recomendations or info would be great

I need an axle to take 700 whp
But it has to be as lightweight as possible
Mustang axle is an option
Do they do them in alloy ?
Didnt Danny b do things like this for drag racing ?

I don't think lightweight, axle and taking 700whp go together in the same sentence.
Forget 8"
Mustang 8.8" are good for around 700 with a few upgrades, LOTS of different ratios available.
9" Ford is very heavy but a lot stronger.
Explorer is 8.8"

The Toyota 4x4 axle is an immense weight but at the time was very cheap and i had
limited funds
Now its time for a decent upgrade,

What weight is your car ?
I think you have weight, and lack of torque on your side.
What shafts are you currently using, what spline ?? Where or how did they break ?
Moser can make anything custom, as can Strange or Mark Williams.
Seeing as I have twisted both 28, and 31 spline Mosers...Im not that impressed with them, but they are cheap at around £250 a pair.
That said, my car is close to 1600kgs, and has a little more torque being applied.
Im now using a pair of Mark Williams shafts, and they are soooooo much nicer than the Mosers. And over twice the price.
I havent removed them yet to inspect, But I think they will hold ok.

I bought mine direct from Mark Williams.
But Andy Robinson Race cars can supply, or Hauser probably.
There are various sources in the UK who can build you a complete custom axle from scratch ( based on 9" ) or opt for an 8.8" like I have, which is fully DIY.

I believe that the reliant scimitar and mark 2 jag are strong axles and ideal for old school motors.
A little heavier than the atlas but very strong,i think they were called '4HA'

I was using a 150 shot of nitrous of the line on mickey ts 1.5 60fts
I havnt stripped the axle yet but it has a big knock
If its bolloxed im going to change it
Thats a good 60ft time mate
Im on the good old Atlas on mine with Grp1 shafts and ZF diff. Not sure if it would take your sort of power, but either way they are about £2k to build nowadays, mine was £1200 5 years or so ago and seems to do the job.
A few other escorts are running 8" axles with good results, and they have a wide range of diff ratios

What size is the prop ? Im just using a 3" 2 piece steel item, with 1350 joints. 30T at box end.
Or do you mean the slip yoke ?
G-Force in the US will probably do strong yokes, or Mark Williams might also.

IMO any diff that retains a diff pin.....is a failure waiting to happen.

Heres whats happend

And this is the old prop but its the same as the one i have just took off
3" thick wall cds

Torsen = torque biasing.
If the gears are breaking....only real answer is bigger gears.
As for the prop....WOW !!
The splines twisting, yes, nothing too odd for such launches/power. MW etc will do a stronger yoke for sure, or Strange, or G-Force.
But that prop is insane !!!
I dont know what type of steel etc mine is, but its just a regular steel 3" diam ( sourced from the US ). Mine is not chromoly though.
I did have the rear section sourced from Hauser for a while, which I assume was made locally. They say they have run 3" steel with no problems on 8 second cars.

I have just ordered 2 new ring and pinions with different ratios
411.1 AND A 456.1 from the states
I allready have a 354 .1
The one i broke was a 433.1
Im going to get these built into casings as its only a quick change with about 20 bolts as its a front loader axle
Then in the winter get a decent axle,
