So your chuffed with boarderling AFR after 6k,
Dont tell me it has a bluefin at this level it will be detting above 5.5k, I have seen many of these like this.

i just read this and i dont know what afr is

educated guess: air fuel ratio?

what does the afr borderline mean?

pani k,
You need to maintain a certain AFR, richness around max power, otherwise things get a bit hot and start melting.
MS is just saying it is getting a little on the lean side of rich enough, as though fuel is lacking a bit.

ahh right ok i seem to understand now. so when you are reaching your limits, things start to get a bit dangerous and you risk component failure because of an inadequate healthy afr ratio as I understand.

Yes basically they use rich mixtures as a form of cooling and det resistance.
whilst brits favour rich our cousins over the pond have a saying LEAN IS MEAN!!

What AFR's should we be seeing at 6000rpm?

i have my AFR graph at home from the same RR day and chris todd suggested it maybr running too rich at the top end and killing the power

AFR is the dotted line. You can see it just starts to lean out when the operator aborts around 6400
