Default Dyno Graph's for those that wanted to see them.....

Low boost, just some figures we printed as we were doing some low down stuff before the mapping started in earnest.

Power/torque to go with the graph below.

Enhanced graph - cheers Doug

Brief engine spec: 4 x greys, HG spec T38 (NOT TT), Waples head, HG Engine.

Absolutely over the moon, really didn't expect the power figure we got. Couldn't really run any more boost as we were running out of fuel, guess my turbo will get a relatively easy time, and should we change the injectors, there's a bit more available from the turbo and definitely more from this engine. Cheers Harvey & Ahmed

I know it's not mega power compared to some, but it'll do me fine as a road car. Still want to be in a position for it to be a daily driver, and I'm very confident Harvey & Ahmed have given me what I asked of them.

I've only posted for those who are genuinely interested, no bitching on this thread please.

Regards

Bill

Awesome mate...

Will post mine with nick's head on from the rr graph so we can compare a t38 to a t4_hybrid

Doesn't Hold on to the torque though, do we know if you are using a standard exhaust cam ?

It makes peak power quite high up the rev range, and doesn't really tail off - is this an indication that the turbo is well capable of running far higher boost?

Chuffed to bits for you Bill, If you enjoy driving it as much as I enjoy mine (With the new engine), then we won't see much of you on the web site.......

Will have to compare your graph to mine when I have a mo, and see how they compare. I'm sure you know my spec, as I never kept it a secret. Just wondering how close our spec's are....

Jim,
If you email me the figures that yours made at the various 500rpm increments, I can plot it into the same graph to do a back to back comparison....

There you go Mike......

https://passionford.com/forum/viewto...592&highlight=

Of course this is all pointless, without knowing a brief spec on Bills.

Otherwise we could be comparing a Jet Fighter against a Jumbo Jet.

boost comes in really low down... t38 must be alot more responsive than t4?
thought the earliest you could expect full boost on a t4 was 4k??

Rich - I believe that to be the case, but where do you draw the line, lol? Short of going to eight injectors there and then....... I think 450 for a road car is going to be plenty for me

Chris - If we do, I'll get you to launch mine (you should have something in the post soon-ish - out of my hands now, but think/hope you'll like )

Can't do the jacket contest cos the missus has hidden it!!

Mike - cheers for that, will have a look see when I get home. BTW, you (will) have mail, real mail - lol, possibly tomorrow, more likely Monday

Doug - cheers for that, will amend first post with the clearer pic.

Matt - Quaife peened & polished MT75 gearkit @ price, but BIG UP Bernie , also a rebuilt & slightly uprated front diff' - keep your fingers crossed for me

Cheers for the comments guys, all appreciated. We weren't chasing figures, but we agreed we had to see what it could do on the greys..... wierd thing is, and no word of a lie - I've seen a few engines mapped now and find it fascinating, but obviously not nerve wracking. Fom what people have told me, I expected to be a little nervous with it being my engine this time, but I wasn't the least bit nervous which is testament to the faith I have in my long term 'team' of tuners. Either that or my medication is doing strange things, lol

Unfortunately, and I know it's a pain as I'm the most inquisitive person I know, but the specifics of the spec' aren't for me to disclose. I'm sure anyone who spends time and money doing this type of work will appreciate that.

What I can say is that the spec isn't radically different from apparently similar spec's, and will have to leave it at that I'm afraid. Along with brief spec on first post, usual long studs, WRC head gasket, big wing sump, verniers for cams. Probably go to a Pro Alloy IC before in-car tweak @ Brunters. A brace of Defi's to monitor what the Pectel monitor doesn't. Oh and it's not the Turbo Technics version of a T38.

Just looking forward to getting it back next week/week after, and driving it again - even if I do have to run it in .

Regards

Bill

p.s. probably wouldn't have posted anything other than a few thankyou's if weren't for that meddling Rainbird

So we can't say if the exhaust cam is standard ?

?

Not arsed bill if not just very curious, cause i know mine with the t4 with the scs cams was pretty poor after 7k, by comparision to what it is now.

Ding, can't see me needing to rev past 7000, so Harvey's cam choices suit my requirements - just hope I can contain any urges for more power

With your love of trackdays (I'm not that brave anymore, lol ) I'm sure our requirements are quite different. As said before, I'm genuinely glad you now have your car the way you want it We're both 'into' our motors, and that's what it's all about.

Due to certain things, it's taken a lot of deliberation to stay with my love of performance, but my passion is comparible to other people's "beer & fag's." Just hope I can back into it all, as I once did....

Cheers Lee, I'm quite chuffed and somewhat taken aback that people are pleased for me (although I shouldn't be, as I have similar sentiments for others pleasure in their motors, and their results)

Best Regards

Bill

I'm chuffed for you, coz I know what a smile mine put onto my face, so I know exactly how your going to feel once she's ran in and you push that accelerator for the first few hundred times.......

Just do what I did, and you have..... forget the figures, just enjoy the drive.

Just out of interest Bill..... and probably not something you can answer until you have run her in, but....

What is the relevance (of course we are only talking numbers here) on the road of having circa 450bhp & 360lbft? I fully appreciate this is down to spec etc, but would that mean it pulls (acclerates) the same as a car that had say 360/360, but enables you to reach the higher terminal speeds associated with a 450bhp (regardless of torque figure to a degree)?

Perhaps that question is too full on but it is by no means meant as a disrespectful question.

Torque = G Force of accelleration

BHP = Ability to achieve greater overall top speed.

I think ????

But if I'm wrong, I'm sure there are hundreds who will correct me.......
