hello all, can anyone tell me if a company can charge what they like for the transcripts , thats when you phone a company or they phone you and record whats said!! only i have a dispute with auto mart online, they are a company that pretend to be auto trader and are frauds.. here is my post about them

people on here should read this for there own good!!! anyway they want £9.99 for the transcripts of what i said and more importantly what they said, i have already phoned trading standards and they advised me to ask for the transcrpts and that it might cost a couple of quid as your talking a 20p disc and a 30p stamp so were they get £9.99 from i dont now , only that its evedently to put me off asking for it! trading standards have also got intouch with blackpool council who have sent me a form with a loads of questions on it about this company, auto mart online!! i wonder if blackpool council have had lots of complaints

I think £10 is maximum amount that can be charged for information stored about you. Which I presume this would be under that definition. All covered under data protection act

hi chris, its not the £69 that bothers me its the fact that its fraud, and principle.. i hate rip off merchents , it looks good at the mo as blackpool council or now involved in the matter but the other fact is that there doing this everyday and living off autotrader..

 

Cant you phone up your bank credit/debit card and get the payment canceled as unauthorised?

 

rang up my credit card who told me to ring trading standards first , then if all fails i might get a refund off visa

 

ok update on this guys, ive found out from trading standards in blackpool that you dont have to pay a penny for the transcripts!! blackpool trading standards can demand them!! and thats what they are doing in my case so fook there £10.00 demands i will let peeps now how i go on but keep away from http://www.automartonline.co.uk/ they are frauds...
