if its mirror finish and just needs polishing then just use something like autoglym super resin polish.
If its not shiny then use autosol metal polish and a buffing wheel attached to a drill etc.
I've just redone my whole exhaust and its like chrome

I used Autoglym metal cleaner on my stainless exhaust tip and it got ALL the black off it without much effort and some kitchen towel and then buff up with a soft cloth and it looked like new, top stuff
