Default rs turbo using alot of petrol

my s2 with a zvh engine has been slowly using more petrol i used to do 100 miles on about 10-15 but i can only do about 60 miles to £20 of fuel. only 20 to the gallon what does every one else's do on fuel.

i get around 50 miles to 10 pound out of a 1.8 zvh set up correct running 200 bhp at the wheels, is your car well serviced, is the air filter clean and are the tires at the correct pressure i doubt you will get any more than 20-28 mpg out of it any way at the present fuel prices.

What have fuel prices got to do with MPG?

my car does about 60-70 for 20 quids worth of fuel around town and ive got a 1.6 cvh running 200 bhp. the fuel prices arnt really helping matters at the min. A standard rs turbo is only supposed to about 27 mpg anyway so tuned its going to use more

Sounds about right to me, a lot depends no how you are driving it, short trips under hard throttle, driving it hard when the engine is still on worm up can have a catastrophic effect on fuel economy.....

i drove the car last night to guildford which is 100 miles driving it like a granny fully loaded with equipment and it used about 15 which is not to bad. but i am going to get it set up. does any one know how much a set up would be as i only want to run just standard as i am at college and it is costing me alot in petrol.

the air cleaner is clean and the throttle sensor clicks and i expect it to use alot round town but i normally go on along trips about 100 miles. the engine has done about 600 miles it is a new block but i will have to see how much jam sport charge.

another thing is it free to go to the surrey owners club meet as i am only in guildford thanks rob
