Question Mondeo Mk1 Changing speakers help...

Hi all, 1st post and that...

I want to change my front speakers of my 1996 Mk1 Mondeo but cant seem to seperate my door panels off the chasis.

I have done the 5 outer screws and the covered one at the bottom right and where the inside door handle is, am I missing anything else? it seems to be fixed down at the top but it wont budge and for obvious reasons I don't want to force it!

Also, what is the correct size speaker I should be looking for? (I was going to find out when looking at my old ones, but as im on the ford forum I'd though I would ask anyway).

Mike.

The speaker are an odd FORD size, you can just buy or make templates to use round speakers, 6" if I remember right.
My dad has just done the rears on his mk1, used some FLI speakers, sounds really good to be honest, had pioneers in it when we got it, but they were not up to much, and the numpty had had put the three ways in the rear and the two ways in the front, so soon swapped around.

as for speaker size its 6x8 but with a little bit of trimming you could fit 6x9 if you wanted

6x9's will fit, just re drill the holes, i did it in both my old mk1's. use jbl 6x9's, they do fit, some other makes have bigger magnets and wont fit.
