Been asked a few times before i know.
What is the difficulty in doing it?
Say u have an engine with the pump on it, and u have a rack - what else do u need? I have a spare mk5 power rack - does it just need modding to fit?

I have seen these conversions done - one came up on Ebay a while back and I'm sure it used a rack of some kind of Peugeot - a 305 I think with a Mk5 CVH PAS pump.
You can't use a Mk5 rack because the mounting system is totally different

I just put a mk5 rack and a RST rack side by side yesterday and made the following observations:
The threads for the rod ends are coarser on the mk5.
The rack is of similar length from inner joint to inner joint.
The mk5 rack is ~10cm longer from the end of rod end thread to the other end.
The valve assembly is surprisingly compact in the mk5 rack which is nice.
The take off for the steering axle is a good ~6cm more to the center line of the car.
The diameter and number of splines is totally different in the mk5 rack's steering axle take off.
The angle of the take off was the same.
The mounting to bulkhead would need a simple adapter assembly.
Still the best rack I have seen is the Nissan Bluebird rack. It's also only 2.5 turns end to end. The mk5 was over 3.

You'd then move the column to one side when u mount it. Doesn't sounds too diffucult then
It seems that the BLuebird rack is used in mk1 Golf PAS conversions. There are a lot of pictures available from the mk1 golf PAS conversions on the web.
So does the corsa power steering work diff to every other rack and pinion rack then ?
Corsa is a motor not a rack...
Its a Leccy motor...

So the S2 lock to lock never changes
We are developing this for the S2 already....
