old dears been complaining about blurred vision the last few days and today went to the opticians (she lives next door to us so i got the apoitment not a problem)
unfortunatly the old dears got this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retinal_detachment
which basicly means she's gone blind in one eye 2 weeks before she's due to retire
she's due an op on monday but that could mean 3 or 4 nights in hospital while they check her over and beacuse they need to check her other eye as well it could mean that she could possibly come back home with very limited or, in the worst case, no vision at all
what a fucker eh

thanks peeps
they've given her an eye patch to cover the eye why shes at home, she goes in for a ew days at least next monday to get it operated on but she's thinking the worst when i'm trying to tell her that it's going to be alright
my brothers gone to barcalona for the weekend so we can't get hold of him either so that just leaves me and my dad (the mrs is preggers so she's not really going to be able to do much for mum as well as look after junior so guess who's going to be in full "look after your old dear" mode
at least my old mans going to go to the hospital with her and stick around till she comes back out
in the mean time i've asked her to walk around with a parrot on her hsoulder and say "arrrh!!" a lot
but getting back to reality, one eye is ok, but living with a blind person, don't know how i would be able to deal with that
anyone else got any experiences?
