Default strong smell of petrol

i own a mk6 rs2k which seems to be running rich. its is standard apart from a full magnex with de-cat and a k&n induction kit. when the car is idling the smell of petrol is present from the exhaust. ive been told that people can smell it when i drive past to. it doesnt seem to matter if the car is cold or hot its stiil there. there doesnt seem to be any leaks. could this be down to a dodgy lamda sensor? if not what else could it be? thanx in advance

I have the same problem, even after I changed my LLambda's. i am now suspecting MAP or Temp senders. If the ECU thinks the engine is cold it will run at max fuel.

I just havn't got he time to investigate it yet, daft really I am only getting 20-23 MPG.

If you find a cure for yours let me know. Good advice is always found on the http://www.rs2000-16v.co.uk/newsitefiles/indexnew1.htm website

Cheers Nick
