UPDATE: S2...GRS..COOLING...HESITANCY...QUESTIONS
Ok guys. After fitting the GRS i have also fitted new temp gauge sender, and a saphire cos fan sender. After a thrash, the temp whilst cruising was on the N of NORM. ok??? When i pulled up and let het tickover the fan kicked almost right away, and held it at O of NORM. this too ok?? Im happy specially as am only running a single fan. But what dya think??
Also, on my hestancy problem. Well, i bought some vacuum hosing from Ford. The car when bought was running the pipe from turbo direct to actuator...eliminating the AMAL. I re connected it all up as factory with the new pipe. Boosted a tad more AND was hardly any hesitancy at all. Could this have been my problem or is it coincidence????
Thanks

your temps seem fine to me i have the same setup cooling wise as you and get almost the same results just a litte lower but i use a 2wd cossie intercooler so i get to use a standard erst fan on the radiator
Bloody hell never seen that on any rst ive had Vrooom. All STD rsts ive had have all had new rads, temp gauge senders, and have never idled at less than a half gauge.
i dunno what it is eithe rmate, might be my XR2 fan switch lol, try one!! i got it from a local motor factors, was for an E or F reg i cant mind, mine broke so i stuck it in and was
thats without any anti-freeze and with 3.8litres, both the same

no probs lee but the summer will be a different story i think as your using one fan!
do you find your fan stays on all thru your journey as the temps never go low enough to switch it off as your using the cossie fan switch which switchs the fan on earlier?......... when i had the standard fan switch in i used to see half and would switch of the fan for a little while when dropped low enough.

No mate it dont run when im cruising...but as soon as i pull up....couple of seconds and it kicks in and doesnt knock back off until i start going again. Yeah summer will be different although i may hav a 3dr by then lol
silly idea switching the fan on earlier. After a period the temp will settle regardless of when its turned on. Turning it on just before this temp is ideal - saves it coming on all the time. They're meant to run at least 88 degrees when driving anyway.

might get a bit hotter with a thrashing, but the fan comes in at quarterish

I have a GRS intercooler, single 10" Kenlowe fan and newish standard rad, running 19psi. When driving it is at the very bottom of Norm and then when i pull up in traffic or lights it starts to rise a little but as soon as it does the fan kicks in and brings it straight back down to the bottom of norm.(and thats in the summer). Its great, since its all been fitted its never seen past half way!
