As a general guide, screw the mixture screw right in and then unscrew 1 and a half turns, then adjust 1/8 th a turn either way to fine tune...if it revs to max then cuts out unscrew,if it is choking then screw in.
sounds like knackered glow plug though

It might of been ok at the shop and might look ok,but they are like cossie plugs and dont perform so well under extreme pressure and can be fooked in seconds

If its firing then there is a good chance that glo plug is ok...just screw mixture right in and then unscrew 1 and a half turns, restart and fine tune, job done

If it's using half a tank of fuel in a minute then it's running way too rich.
I don't know what make of car/engine you've got but you need to go back to the base settings and go from there.

Did it come with an insruction manual?

Depends.. some glow plugs are hot and some are cold.. normally the bigger engines .21+ need run better with colder plugs (from my expierence) and the smaller engines .12 .15 run better with a hot glowplug.. also put it back to base settings and then lean it slightly as base settings always run rich.

Too much smoke, burning lots of Fuel? Sounds like its running far too rich, turn the screw down (the fuel mixture one)

you shouldnt have to touch the idle speed one tbh, what car isit?

i have just been out on my savage not long ago
