need some help please..

my laptop seems to have formatted itself.. its weird, I went to play a video and they have all gone.. Evern whn i tried to burn a CD with Roxio, it wouldnt work..


what has happened please, it seems fucked

for starters it hasn't 'formatted itself' because Windows is obviously still there.
What happens when you try and burn a CD, how doesnt it work?

I think that is how its spelt.. Anyway, it asks to install the program, but doesnt install.. My wallpaper has gone and now its blank..!? All my vids have gone, yet the memory FREE is the same as before.. I tunes has gone

Probably a profile issue.

Are you running XP or Vista?

 

runnin XP Ade

 

My Computer > C Drive > Documents and Settings

What folders you got?

Should have an all users, your profile name, others?

Memory is not hard disk drive space for a start

All videos and pictures should remain as they are unless you / spyware / virus / or program alteration has moved / deleted them. They won't just randomly move around your pc

check and see what that wank bit of Roxio has done

Then look into some data recovery software

 

they have all gone..!? How can I make it normal again with all the programs working please... must have been a virus

 

its not just Roxio not working, its everything including windows media player

 

I use this http://www.recovermyfiles.com/ and it seems to of done the job on some missing mp3's

but why has my wallpaper/screensaver and practically everything else just dissapeared.. nothing works, as nothing is there

I would add screwed profile to that list.

Probably a Westy and a Westy.000 in the folders listed above.
