It didn't melt because it was built wrong, it was either mapping or another failure of some sort which led to the engine melting.

Has Mike R's car melted ? I certainly don't see Andrew Gallagher complaining about his engines

I don't for one minute hold anything against Karls engine building or mapping though

Lets be honest though Dingy, your seriously over specced engine couldn't even make 500hp a month ago, no wonder its been safe with a spec like that running only mild power

400hp can be done on a stock engine by just adding a few components, thats if your only looking for a figure of 400hp. If you want a nicer power delivery etc.. then you would need to start thinking about getting a cylinder head done and other bits BUT you can and it has been proven several times make near to 400hp on a stock engine

harveys engines are always made safe i watched him dyno my last engine that made 680bhp he said it could easily go to 700 but kept it safe.

and he mapped the engine i built for the mk2 escort i'm doing on pump fuel it made 570 , you can see when its on the dyno its well within the limits

yes i have wide band fitted with data logger to check fueling and if its been weak its been a problem outside the engine and management. never had a mapping problem except the boost needing tweeked from being fitted to the car from the dyno
