MAJOR PHEW!!!

While re-fitting my head last night () I had to remove and then refit the oil return pipe for the turbo as it had moved round when the head was taken off.

I gave the pipe a quick glance over and noticed that the jubilee clip had slowly been working its way thru the outter skins And this is a Roose Motorsport hose It had also spit on the inside, looks like its on the last skin holding it together.

Typically this had to happen as nothing runs smoothly lol, the rest of the car was put back together with this being left until this morning to sort.

I rang Paul @ Roose and explained what had happened, now for some reason they don't keep these pipes on the shelf and i need one by tomorrow latest!! But he cannot make me one up until tomorrow but promises me it would be with me on Friday sometime, great but not so great.

I thought i'd risk it and try my mate at my local Fords, now i know these can be quite expensive and rare from Fords but its a matter of needs be as she's booked to have some electrical work done today which involves the engine needing to be run and into TOTD for tomorrow afternoon and then the Pf RR day on Sat.

Now this fella i know is a fooking dude and for some unknown reason rolls finis codes off like he's saying the alphabet, you ask something 9 times outta 10 he knows the finis code off of the top of his head

He did a quick search but no local Fords were showing one, he traced one down in Tunbridge Wells and is getting it TO me for 13.30!! At trade cost

£35 all in to be exact And the Roose one is £27, so not to much of a difference.

So i can bung that on until the Roose one arrives, at least it'll get me thru the set-up and the RR day!!

paul its whats MENT to be fitted to em when there on there, there metal on the return, there a smaller version of the plastic hose clips as fitted to you missus old fiesta 1.25 ect on the water pipes to the rad ect

any old microfiche parts man will know part numbers for things like sierra rear lamps, or serivce parts as its a arse to find stuff on them you will remember

the partsman in my old branch is nicknamed " the oracle" as he knows part numbers, locations, parts that are similer that would fit, rivet sizes, reasons why forks on gearboxes dont fit blah blah blah

the man knows EVERYTHING, hes such a quiet bloke too

i tried to learn part numbers and remembered easy ones like 1066071 for focus oil filters and 1060606 i think for mk6 escort top gearbox mounts

BUT ITS CAUSE I SOLD 10 OF THEM A WEEK

same with the heater valves for fiestas and heater resistors for mondeos/focus's

but the oracle,,, i STILL call him up for info and i dont work there anymore

mate ive had some PROPER worrying things,,,,,, guy doing BRAKES asking me if the cars got ABS or how can he tell

people asking for LOCATIONS of parts,,,, fitting clutches to galaxys and not knowing what a dual mass flywheel fucking is

and mechanics who wont check because either the car is outside or its in the fucking air,,,,,, instead they want me to send out all the options and he will send back what he dont use

tbh im lucky as im not on commision like others and im not sales targeted ect due to my other things i do in my job
