Take the pulse air off, it is only there to admit air to the exhaust system when cold to promtote continued burning inside the exhaust for good emmisions.
I took it off the mondy I had and the car was so much easier to work on, noticed no difference in performance at all.

EGR and PULSE AIR are TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SYSTEMS, and use TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SET OF PIPES.
EGR is for performance as it reduces the combustion chamber temperatures to reduce emmisions of NOX, a gas that is emitted when certain temperatures are reached.
The EGR does no harm to performance at all as it turns off when at full throttle anyway, IF GOING RIGHT.
If having trouble just take off as it clears a lot of piping out of the way, but will not harm performance leaving on.
Make sure that you leave the EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE DIFFERENTIAL SENSOR connected(electrically) though other wise it will go into LOS, on SOME FORDS.

Default TABETHA!!!!!

Tabetha. removed the pipes and cast manifold but left evrything else where it was. But now need a new starter, starter wire and heat wrap and it earthed out on the new manifold and burnt out as they only mm's apart but been told the mk3 fiesta or the Ka starters are smaller and may give more clearance between the 2! Thanx fr all your advice it has been excellent! I know about the egr and was told to definitely NOT to touch this or i would face major problems!
