Default Dominican Republic

Right I'm off to the Dominican Republic in November for a wedding (not mine! ) and have been wondering what currency to take.

We've heard different stories about people taking Peso's, Dollars etc but wondered what people have taken who've been there recently!.

Cheers all

Jase

I was there May this year take the US dollar they love it plus with the current exchange rate your onto a winner, you cant get there Paso over here anyway as they dont allow it it leave there country so make sure you dont have any ammount left when you come home as you get Paso in change when you buy something
also take lots of 1 dollar bills for tips for the bagage handlers and porters at your hotel
there all want tips as its such a poor country

you them have to excahnge you money into Peso, dont bother just take US dollars you get a much better deal
I bought my mate some fags and if I paid in dollars they where much much cheaper

spent very little,I took only 200 dollars and then changed a few quid when I was there your best off changine your money over here and have buy back option,
depending on what you want to do theres not a lot to spend money on only days out like fishing and sea world,
take plenty of factor 20 to start as the sun is damm fierce seen loads of burnt bodies
if you take 1000 dolllars you will come back with change after 2 weeks just take a credit card just in case
