Default any cars go bang or have trouble one the way to ford fair?

i had my brush holder that screws in to the alternator and hold the brushes break (dont ask how) i had no alternator light light up and being as i was low on petrol i assumed i had ran outy of petrol as it felt a little splutterry. so on i walked with my jerry can , till i was offered a lift by a coach, result!. After filling the can i realised i had dropped my wallet in me car so i had to leave my phone as a deposit . Eventually i set back to my car and filled it with the can and the car never started, assuming my starter motor had over heated i bump started it then half a mile down a country road it happened again, errrrrr!!!! i thought i may need more petrol as i was on a steepish hill so i went to get more just to have the car die again after a min. That was it, it was time for AA. My engine had decided to smoke, clutch slip and get hot and poss crank seal as im now loosing oil. when AA arived he tried starting it then gave me a jump start and once turned off failed to start again so we tested the alternator which was when we noticed the break. so could lack of power to ecu have caused car to fuel wrong added to no poewr to fan have have caused it to overheat and do my rings or piston in my 4th cylinder (gearbox side) as the compression is 80 as where the others are 145,140 and 130? cheers

sorry if any of this sounds thick

I had a completely hassle free journey to this show which was nice for once, as i went in my N reg 1.6 run about escort. Didnt miss a beat, plus been using it all evening since back to

Good man!

Thats why I wasn't in my Cossie!

(Rebuild in progress!!)

Saw three cars at the side of the A43 near Towcester, but I think only one was crapped out and the other two were mates. A saff, fiesta (turbo i think) and an Series 1/2 RS turbo.

There was a French Fiesta Turbo with the bonnet lifted just outside the circuit so I hope he is on the move again!

I was in the wifes Volvo 850 T5 and despite every effort to break it, it just keeps going!!

Loader off here left his cossie at home and came up in a 2.8 Capri, took a wroung turn and got pissed of so nailed it.

10 Mins + 5th Gear + Flat Out = Conrod through block

He got back last night, the AA dropping the car off today.

Funny thing is he just left it there and got a lift off a friend to ford fair and said he sort it all out later

Good lad

Well had a wicked 1st session, car was going well had a twitchy moment down the back but all was corrected thankfully.

Last lap coming out of woodcote lost all boost pressure, so limped back in and found the 90 degree bend had come un done- dam m8 studs.

So all was tightned and strted up then smoke came out the back and still no boost pressure but the smoke revelead this that rolled out of my exhaust.....

Un real to see it sat there

So parked the car back on the Fast Ford stand and enjoyed the rest of the day.

Called AA at 4 and they finally collected me at 8 o clock. Cheers to the ball lickers on the phone at AA. The driver said he didnt get the call until 20 mins before he picked me up.

Any one any ideas why the exhaust side of turbo would snap the propeller of the compressor side is fine no oil signs or marked blades, spins smoothley still. So thankfully the engine is ok.

ive had a bit of trouble with the idling last week or so, didnt really get enough time to sort it out. got told off the aa that it was the control unit which just needed cleaning up. so i decied to drive anyway as it was only a problem slowing down. (cutting out now and again)

anyway drive there was ok. got a bit temperamental on the roundabouts off the M42 but didnt cut out which was good ( i thought)

drive home was a different story though, car was misfiring like a cunt. looks like its the coil pack thats gone. not that dear to change i dont think but just a hassle. will take out the idle control unit and clean and probably change the oil/filter/plugs at the same time too.

suppose it would be worrying if i made it home without a problem driving a ford
