i have this forge strut brace for my 4x4


now i really like the fact its chunky as fook and i like the design near the ends but will it actually work properly?or am i better off buying a different one that will work properly?and ebaying mine
reason i ask is i looked at a few at ford fair and obviously mikes one and see alot of these ones.



and i know mike knows his shit so thats why he has one.

Providing you use the correct bolts and not three self tappers , then it will be fine - not ideal, but perfectly acceptible .

was gonna use allen key head nuts and bolts.stainless jobs 8 or 10mm i think they are. when you say not ideal,what do you mean?if its not the best then is it gonna be a noticeable difference getting what you suggest?

Ideally it would be braced against the inner part of the turret, with the other side of the turret welded as in the pic to the inner wing.
But as it is a road car it will be more than enough.

I don't think on a road car you will notice a significant difference between the two designs - PROVIDING you used bolts like you suggested .

Obviously the braced method is better, as it is not just relying on the rigidity of a few bolts .

hmmm what to do.may just keep it then.i dont think i'll want to risk binning a newly painted and rebuilt car on a track.
