Was started last night, and since then it has been modifed by RS-Specialists twice .

Markk made a point that a viscous diff is nothing like a plated diff, and that Pete is misleading people in the fact that he is advertising it as such. Now I am not trying to start a fight here, but surley these points would be better left on the post so people can decide for themselves??


My other question is should traders be allowed to moderate the for sale section as it obviously leads to incidents like this, where they can just delete things they don't like ....

i dont think he's causing trouble at all.

Pete has purposely deleted all my 'comments' about his-mis-advertising his diff to be something it isnt. and twice he has removed my comments.

i have not slagged anyone off, nor have i made any remarks against any pricing structure, just mearly commented about the information in his description being incorrect. a viscous diff in any way shape or form will never be like a plated unit.

thats it.

I've always said that mods shouldn't be people who stand to gain from the site, as in a professional capacity..... Mods should be "regular users" IMO...

But other that that, I ain't getting involved.....

 

I vote that he shouldn't be a mod anymore, its obvious that he is unable to be impartial and seperate fact from his business interests

 

uprated viscous ones usually work more like welded ones TBH, its just not possible to work like a properly set up plated diff

ive just read the coments of the post and tbh it seems pete's just being picked on like vendetta here , i personaly have had to edit several of his threads due to unecersary coment

why do we need to keep hearing the same record over and over again pete is just following the rules that are set out by us all to follow and he is intitled to edit such coments from any posts in those rooms, to my knowledge he has never used his status to suit himself

I am only concerned about the factual comments that Markk posted up, I agree the derogatory ones should have been deleted.

i'm certainly not having a go at traders,its just that the advert has be deleted as things got said on there about the item Pete was selling.

now if Pete would of not been a trader or mod,them i'm 100% sure that the advert with the comments from Markk would of been still there but there not.

Pete is a mod and he is selling something....someone questioned it and then it was deleted....

If you dont like a trader or the parts he is selling and at the price he wants then fine , but constant diggs at them is exactly the reason i hardly ever bother placing adds on here now ( same as a lot of other traders who have fucked off to other sites )

yep, you are wrong I asked on a completely different post a few weeks ago ( which to my mind was a different advert, didn't know this was the same advert) If pete would take a couple of 4x4 diffs for p/x and cash, he never replied, I never followed up. Simple.

Not having a pop at traders at all, I'm having a pop about an item being misdescribed, and a number of other people have also commented on this, then the aforementioned trader editing the post so no one can see the points made - And he knows he's in the wrong as otherwise it wouldn't have been edited

it was not Will that stated about the diff first it was Markk,and i don't think Mark has issues with Pete or any traders on here.

he was just pointing out that Pete was advertising the diff which, in Marks opinion, Pete should of well know what the correct description for it was and Marrk commented on it and gave him his expert opinion on what type of diff it is,then a few more posts about it then it dissapears.

then a new advert for the same thing appears with the first one deleted.

all i'm sayng is it is out of order that Pete has done this,as any other person would of not been able to edit it or delete it etc..

i have nothing against Pete whatsoever but imo he was out of order for doing that and that he has abused his position on here.

 

I think you are reading a bit too much into this mate, if pete didn't want to sell me the diff thats up to him , but there wasn't even a no on the thread, so I really fail to see your point of it being the same diff? (incidently i am going 2wd rear beam and diff now, so I don't need a 7" 4x4 diff, incase you are thinking I am trying to put people off it !!)

I will quite happily stick up for myself, and others when traders think they can sell shit and get away with it (ATM), and I have no qualms about proceeding to legal action when I have been wronged Infact, I even remember sticking up for YOU when ATM were accusing you of dealing in stolen cars , so I fail to see how I am "having a pop at traders" ? I use lots of REPUTABLE traders to the tune of Ł1000's of pounds, and I have never had a problem with GENUINE ones.. What I cannot stand is when someone sells somthing for top money (or any price really), claming its this and that when its a load of bollocks......

Even you must realize that the likes of ATM and other scumbags preying on people who don't really know thier stuff brings ALL of the traders into disrepute, and makes people suspicious before you even talk to them??

All I want is to be sold what I asked for or to buy what is described...., and for people to be HONEST when they describe somthing.... It's not hard is it? Again, how many times have you driven miles and miles to see a "minter" that turns out to be fit for tin can making?

And I stick to my point that editing out genuine points is very underhanded....

well, to end all this put the ORIGINAL POST back up, and see what people think...... I started this thread as I felt what Pete did was plain wrong, simple as I don't love having a go at traders at all, i would FAR rarther spend my cash, recive the part and fit and forget. But as has happened previously, people promise the world, deliver fuck all, and have to be bullied on a public forum into doing the right thing again.......

And why do you keep refering to traders as a Plural Paul? its not ME and THE TRADERS, I have never had a go at you at all? and I have used you on a number of occasions , and given you repeat business and reccommended you to mates as you have always been spot on.... I fail to see how you work out that I like having a go at traders? I only pipe up when I see things that need sorting.

 

I dont know the particulars about this issue. I dont want to know either, imo traders should not have mod status, it could lead to conflict of interests.

Its also open to abuse / editing. Im not saying that is the case here.


As I said dont know about this situation in particular and this is NOT directed at any mod/trader in particular its an opinion I have is all.

I personaly have never had a problem with you , BUT i have seen you go on and on about traders and feel its time the hate towards traders on here is stoped unless its justified , and by the person effected and that person and the trader can say there bit without the band wagon jumpers ganging up on traders .

We are all human and we all make mistakes , as i have , but the bad feeling towards traders on here is putting people off from bothering on here and thats a great shame
