Default 2.0 ZVH suddenly splutters on boost.....

RST's, you gotta love 'm......

I hooked up a second radiator fan, so disconnected the intercooler for that reason and after refitting it all the car suddenly splutters on boost.

All hose joints are bolted on right so no air leaks I guess.

Car starts, idles and runs fine but when boosting it, it seems like it drowns in fuel or the spark is blown out. No changes were made in timing, ignition or fuelling. It just splutters and holds back when on boost.

Anyone got any idea what I could try to solve this? It was running sweet before........

Thank you......

Alright, sorted......

Turned out to be a faulty fuel pump. Changed it for a 3i one that I have and it runs good again.

A Cossie one is ordered......

Just wanted to let you all know......

Yeah I've read something like that. Really shitty man. Hopefully you'll sort it out soon.

Good luck with it.

my mate has just got a s2 which has been stood for ten years with a simmilar problem.
MSD said it was the fuel pump but with a new one on it's not made the difference we were hoping for!
next step is to clean and replace as much as the feuling system as poss!

Maybe the fuel pressure regulator. Or a bad electrical connection after those 10 years.....

But as always, hard to tell through the internet.....
