Default zvh / cvh

why is it that the zvh doesn't rev as well as a 1.6 cvh??

If you got 250bhp on a zvh and 250bhp on a cvh would the cvh be quicker? just looking at options for project lol

i've tried to find this out but everytime i ask on a thread on here noone is willing to explain it's either an urban myth or people have no idea what they are commenting on or are to bastard lazy to explain their opinion. so people settle this once and for all cos some of us on here are not privvy to the same info.

The geometry is better on the CVH with a longer rod and shorter stroke in comparison with the bore size.

This is the reason why.

The ZVH will produce the power but then start to tail off higher up the rev range where as the CVH will still make power higher up.

Isn't this strange because the Zetec is a fairly revvy engine. (in fact more revvy than a n/a CVH...)

My ZVH will go upto 5k no problem, didn't try much more as I want to keep it in one piece......

ive heard this urbun myth a lot to,never had no probs with mine, the harder you rev it the stronger the pull, dont need to rev it past 6k anyway,
another thing thats not been mentioned is the torque,2.0 is much torquer than cvh,and thats what you want, and i built the engine in my car approx 6 years ago now,and believe me its not had an easy life!
and it just keeps doin the numbers.
zvh or 16v zetec is the only way to go for big power,on uncrazy boost, and still retaining good reliability.i think i have shown that over the years,to myself if knowone else.

i built a 1.8 zvh xr2tt, and that pulled to 6500 as good as my 1.6 cvh xr2tt.

And that was just a rebuilt 1.8 zetec bottom end, and xr2i rebuilt head.
No mod's, just fresh.
My cvh, is balanced, flowed head.

my 2.0 ZVH won't rev verry high...

can't understand why some will rev higher then others...

6000 rpm is the max on mine, when boost comes in it flies to just over 5000 then goes slower to 6k and then it's all over so any suggestions whould be appreciated
