I use 5-7psi less in my tyres when I go on track. Normal pressure is 31psi.

Take everything your told about tyre pressure with a pinch of salt - some swear by higher pressure, others lower just make sure it doesnt get tooo high - the heat can add llbs easily especially at somewhere like a GP circuit.

Good choice in tyres ! I would go for standard settings mate run them at this for first session then on return to pits after drop the pressure back to standard psi.

Ive found this works best for me but you here of people dropping lots of psi. This works for the strip but not always for track.

The tyres your running have a strenghned side wall unlike a road tyre which will distort under extreme conditions so that will seriously help tyre handling.

Just see how they go but take a good digital tyre pressure guage.

As your running road tyres try to keep them (when hot) at an average recommended road tyre pressure.

30 ish should be fine on a cool / normal day

28 ish on a hotter day

Remember in the morning when they are cold they will increase during the first session so set them below this figure initially - and check them constantly during the day

Build up the pressure during the first 2-3 laps and remember the grip level on a cold tyre is a lot less so take it steady in the first few corners.

Jim- Is that where you went into paddock flat out in 5th by chance? - if so, i think the tyres not gripping was just part of the reason

On R888s, follow Tony's advice I'd say.

Dropping from road pressures up to 10 psi works VERY well on R888s - by mid to end of the session the tryes will be probably normal road pressure of 5-10 psi higher.

Start on 35 psi and you'll be on 45 or more by the end

As an guide 24-25ish cold will see around 32ish when hot.

Drop this un needed hot 2-3psi out as soon as you come in from the session - or ideally half way through it.

Leave set at that all day.

Or as Eagle found out - if you personally dont like it and you find something else that works for you then stick with it Even if your 1 in a million

We can only give a set-up guide from experience - your own experience will give you the guide from your seat

One thing - if it isnt right or dosn't feel right to you then FFS go and ask someone. There will be plenty people on your trackday with either a similar car or with greater experience. The organisers will often help too. They are not just there for track tuition they have vast experience in all fields.
