Default waiting time on parts??????

ordered gaz coilovers for rear of my car

after ordering igot a phone call saying they would take 2 weeks to come?????????

do you think this is acceptable???

i think in this day and age, when everyone advertising stuff youd think they would have them on shelf or at least be ordered from manafacture direct and sent in 2-3 days

am i wrong??

Its the same with most places col....they advertise the stuff but dont actually keep it in stock as this keeps their overheads down.

The guy you bought them off must have got bad news when he phoned GAZ to get them.

They must be out of stock at warehouse

Problem nowadays is no one wants to hold masses of stock, I'm a product manager for a scanner distributor and we don't hold stock of everything even our suppliers are cutting in down what they hold. I can get spare parts from Canon in about 1 week but Fujitsu who have the biggest market share can take up to 6 months!!!!

i wouldnt have said 2 weeks waiting for coilovers is that bad.

they dont keep coilovers on the shelf for everycar, and theyve got to work thru the orders in a systematic order.

i was quoted anything upto 4 weeks lead time, and i wouldnt complain at that!

I recently ordered GAZ coilovers for my focus and was told they were made to order so there would be a wait. Having said that they arrived a week later which wasnt so bad

Its bloody stupid col ,,i would have had what you wanted in stock and you could have had them next day ,, now you have to wait and you could possibly buy another make , so they could lose out .

It always makes me wonder why manufacturers these days dont want good dealers

becuase they can sell it for the same as what they sell it to you and probably a little bit more, don't have to pay for admin, distribution etc, the age of the middleman is nearly gone....... everyone knows to go straight to manufacturer for the best deal these days. With the vast range of media to advertise, they no longer need dealers taking a cut.
