I've bought some of that stuff off that ebayer, only thing I will say is that it goes very brittle once its got warm, not sure if all wraps go like that!!!! Make sure its tied well afterwards as if you go to touch/remove the downpipe it crumbles off!!!
The cheap stuff is more likely to fall to bits tbh.
I used Thermo Tec wrap to do the manifold on a car.

Much more pricey but my mate uses it on his 800hp corvette and so far its not fallen to pieces like others I have seen.
If you look under exhaust wrap on ebay you will also find the metal ties which work very well.
When fitting it you need to make it nice and damp (I soaked it) then apply it nice and tight.
Warning though, it will feel like you have just slept with a community of fleas if you dont wear some sort of gloves

Hi
the only way you will get any heatwrap to last is by spraying it with hi temp silicon coating, otherwise it will just crumble when touched. If you spray the wrap it feels like a plaster cast.
15foot 2"wide does about 8" or 9" of 3inch pipe.
I've been told you be a little bit careful as some of the heatwraps have asbestos in it - not sure if its true
and we sell all of the above DEI products, Pm me if you want any prices etc.
