the only way you will get any heatwrap to last is by spraying it with hi temp silicon coating, otherwise it will just crumble when touched. If you spray the wrap it feels like a plaster cast.

15foot 2"wide does about 8" or 9" of 3inch pipe.

I've been told you be a little bit careful as some of the heatwraps have asbestos in it - not sure if its true
