are st170 inlet ports the same as blacktop zetecs?
No from what i understand they are a LONG way off. ST170 heads flow to 400bhp with standard valves just need the VVT remeoved and exhaust ports opened up a little. well thats what Ian Howell told me last week
WHY would you remove VVT
its one of the BEST engine advances about,,,, different cam timing to keep valves open longer and allow MORE airflow and then lower the ca timing for better lag free driving round town meaning no need to change to 2nd to get round town
why would anyone remove it,,,,, unless they dont understand how to use it
but like taking a 16v engine out and fitting a 8v engine,,,, why go backwards
whats the cam duration and lift like at high rpm,, considering the vvt reduced the lift and duration lower rpm,,, thus lowering the air flow on a good flowing head
