Default FAO Tuners....uprated head gaskets... worth it?

how much better are the rst head gaskets made by people like felpro?

just seems to be something always going on rst's ive owned and wonder if its worth using an uprated one, talking to a couple of people the ford ones are just as good?

also as for bolts in a zvh engine are the cvh bolts worth using or do i go for the zvh competition bolts by mad for it?

thanks guys

Never use Ford CVH bolts in a ZVH mate.

The thread in the zetec block is recessed about 15mm so you must use longer bolts.
Burton also do a special ZVH bolt.

There are a lot of high power ZVH engines going around that use the 1.9turbo Felpro gasket so i'm sure it will be fine.

i think you will need the ZVH bolts as the cvh ones dont engage enough thread in the block. Burtons sell the proper bolts for the zvh conversion

Recently melted my Felpro headgasket. Have subsequently heard from several diferent sources that it's not suitable for a 1600cc application. Was also told by loads of people that a genuine Ford headgasket was the best way for me to go.

What Zetec block have you got James??

The 1.8 zetec is the same bore as the CVH so a ford gasket can be used
the 2.0 zetec has a larger bore and you must either have the head welded and use a zetec gasket or use the 1.9 felpro.

i have the 1800 block so roughly the same 80mm bore and therefore i assume i can use the standard rst head gasket from frauds.

several people have said use the ford gasket so i think ill leave the felpro to others

i think ill use the zvh bolts from mad for it aswell then

wants a new gasket its gone

bolts look to be standard ford stretch bolts as far as i can see

after ringing round i found out that zvh bolts that are stocked by burton and by mad for it are actually allan key bolts and do not stretch, can be reused.

aye fuking stupid amount of thread to have in the block, its running 14 psi on a stage 2 turbo with fuk all thread holding the head down what a daft idea to put cvh bolts in when there are others available, if i had realised how little thread went through id never even contemplate it.
