hi every one, ive recently got an erst cabriolet, its got chip, unsure on make 4 inch stainless, filter, piper cam, the boost peeks at 20 psi and then holds at 16psi, at first when i got the car this was'nt a problem, but now it is, if you floor the car low down in second and continue through all the gears its fine, but if say your in 3rd gear at around 30 mph and you floor it , it will come on boost then just over boost and cut,
is this just a case of adjusting the actuator, thanks

Bit of a wierd time to develop high boost when you are doing 30mph in 3rd?

 

sorry i probaly worded that wrong, if your in 3rd gear and doing 30 mph, and low down in the revs, put your foot down, as the car picks up speed and the turbo spinns up, it will come on boost then just after around 4500 rpm it will cut
it seems like the actuator needs adjusting to drop the boost
it boosts at 20psi and holds at 16psi, is this the spring gone week

 

hard to say really, is it chipped?

Its an odd boost level for it to do that kind of thing at. What is the rev counter doing when this happens?

 

it is chipped, its got the hearts, spade and # on the ecu, the rev counter bounces all over, ive turned the actuator out half a turn today and its loads better , still peaking near 20psi but holding around 14 psi, but must admit it dont feel as strong on boost now.

 

See i thought the chip unlocked the boost limit though

Does it limit when it peaks, or at the level it holds?

 

it limits just after it peaks, if that makes sence, if i watch the gauge, when i floor it , it will go round to 20psi, and then just as it starts to drop from the 20 psi, it cuts, rev counter bounces and then hell of a bang, or some times a flame out the exhaust,
i do have a turbosystems chipped ecu to try on it, do you think this will help, thanks for your help to...
