Front wheel bearings on a Ford Explorer 2000 4x4

Front wheel bearings on a Ford Explorer 2000 4x4
My Haynes manual states that the front hub and bearing assembly is a sealed unit and is not serviceable on 4x4's. Can anybody verify this, and maybe get a more detailed diagram for me please. I cannot believe I have to replace the whole hub just to replace the wheel bearings??
