hi sorry to be a pain after doing my head my fiesta sound like a bag a bolts how do i check my tappets and what should they be like i.e the nipple on the top is that suppose to go in and out and are the suppose to just slide in and out of the rocker hole thanks for ur help in advance cheers

 

you cant adjust them unless you have fitted solid ones, which im guessing you havent done, give them a chance, they need to fill with oil, but should quite down after a few mins, well within 30 seconds really.
in saying that i had something like it once and undone and re tightened the rocker ams and it stopsed, but remember the rockes do wear a little so this might be the cause, but never expect a cvh head to be noise free

 

a coulple of my tappets were stuck in there and around the bottom have gone very sharp so im going to change them but iv also got no power at all or anything cheers

 

with used tappets you can get sharp edges, mainly cos there worn to fuck, but more than likely so is the cam, the right way to do it is the cam and tappets, although if the cam is ok new tappets can be used on there own.

your need to check the lobes on the cam though, looking through the holes isnt enough

 

i hope you didnt pull the burred lifters up through their bores
