Default head gasket on rs turbo

my car over heated yesterday so i took it to garage and guy said head gasket b4 he had even looked at it.there is no smoke or mayo.my rad poped plus i dont think fan kicked in.any ideas any 1.car seems to run ok to.

It does sound like your head gasket as said, only thing to do to make sure is to use the car, it will get worse if it is.

get a decent garage to use a head gasket tester (sniffer kit) on it.
If your in the AA call them they have sniffer kit too.

yeh they shud do, we've got em at work. and my rst overheated the other day due to fan not cutting in and me not noticing the gauge goin up but my gasket ddnt go. alot of garages will tell u bullshit just to get the job and ur money

sniffer kit never heard of that wish i had before i replaced my headgasket and the problem carryed on

I have the DYE kit to test for this but bloody expensive(£120).

he said that there is to much pressure.and the overheating.i did notice the car wasnt pulling that well would headgasket have an effect on performance.
