Default What if...?

What if you could buy a bare block (no crank etc) but ALL the markings like 200, or 205 are filed off the block...
How/where can you see if it's a 200 or 205 block ?
If possible please explain with pictures.

Don't want to go and buy an old pinto block....

Why have the markings been filled off would be prity hard to get rid of the 205 or 200 on the side as they are cast into the block.

Don't know why they did it...also don't care really.
Just want to know if it's a 200 block.
