Default Fuel pump questions (Stack Dash related)

I've installed my Stack Dash with the fuel pressure sensor and can now get a reading 53.3 (assuming thats psi) ignition switch 2 (engine not running).

Can you tell by the pressure the spec of the fuel pump ie whether its standard or grp-a etc

What pressure should I set the alarm to? 50 ?

AFAIK The stack dash is basically reporting the pressure due to the effects of the fuel pressure regulator (FPR).

As for alarms, I used to set mine after driving it and monitoring the "normal" values. Most FPR are set to operate around 3.5 bar, so set alarm to 3 bar (approx 45 psi) should be fine.

Yeah set it just under the normal fuel pressure at idle.

Mine when its about to run out of fuel runs at about half fuel pressure. I've got about 5 seconds then

you cant set an alarm,,, as the pressure will go up and down according to the pressure in the inlet manifold

what you are seeing is what we call base pressure,,, this is the pressure in the rail at atomspheric pressure

if you run 20 psi it will show 73.3 psi (53.3+20)
if you are on over-run and the inlet pressure is now -10psi, your fuel pressure will be 43.3psi (53.3-10)

and no you cant tell what pump you got

Mine alarm is set to 35psi - you shouldn't see any less than this even with a vacuum (de-accelerating).

but a 35 psi alarm isnt going to stop your engine from blowing up

can you set algorithms for the alarms?

If you set it much higher than that, it will be forever going off (eg, every time you lift off the throttle and / or at idle ) .

You can do a pressure difference ratio with the Defi's, so if it ever sees less than this it warns you .
