iam in the market looking for a decent motor again, and iam looking big power etc and ive got Ł to spend believe me

problem is i dont feel confident in what ive seen i feel whatever i buy ill be spending out on a rebuild very shortly on it doesnt fill me with confidence at all and like you say brand new seems the best option at times

 

Defintley Scott you seem to have to be very wary these days. THe guy was trader to giving it yeah its mint Full dealer history only 58k etc. So i got reg phone dealers up and said last serviced in 05 on 80k

 

right bastids aint they - i had troubles 2 months ago just buying my daily runner

best one was told me the mileage over the phone and got there and it was 30k higher than what they said plus they said it ran well - it dropped dead in front of me ! i just walked away

sad as it is - it winds me the hell up you drive somewhere for nothing and i am happy to travel for the right car

its also the prob i got right now whatever i buy i wonder how genuine is the seller do they know something you dont etc and i know a fair wack - i think its hard to find a genuine seller now these days

plus to many people get a problem and then get the hump saying "ah feck it ill sell it"

buying new is not repeat not a guaranteed way of buying a perfect car.
i know 2 proper bodyshops that only do maindealer bodywork
and they always are doing repairs on NEW cars.
imagine how you would feel buying a range rover that costs 60k
and some wally crashed it off the transporter, all fixed up nice and
sold off to a mush who can't tell,and wasn't told.
gotta feel sorry for people like that

Yep, HPI clear means fuck all. I bought a MK4 Astra GSi turbo from a main dealer, only to find out it'd been smacked into the side at some point and someone got it fixed on the cheap (i.e. it was full of filler)


As for clocking, have a look round the net at the amount of people who do it for a living
