Well, cossie management is on the car ...
Depending on weather, I MAY be able to pick it up tomorrow
Spoke to Karl regarding the concerns I have with it only having a stage 2 bernie box, and he is going to map it more smoothly, rather than a massive spike in torque which will disintegrate it
Hope its fairly dry tomorrow in Derby tomorrow, so the mapping can commence
Light at the end of the tunnel?

mmmmm another l8 v the world post
drivability well im not stu as far as mapping is concerned but chip has been in my cossie and he says would wouldnt know the diff in that to a webber
the l8 was designed for a fiat then a cossie and has been used a all kinds of stuff after that
now why a l8 on zetec would be prefered is beyond me as regular comments by quality tuners are the ecu is only as good as person who is working with it
As most of the regular users know ive had loads of advice on mapping off chip, stu, gareth ect lol and as far as most are concerned the only prob with a dta p8 is the mapping interface which on a dyno is spot on but difficult on a live map BUT CAN BE DONE !
so after my waffle
there is no benifit to removing it for a webber as now as the fact is you will lose all the facilities the ecu has to offer as the l8 becomes very exspensive ecu to add all the bits and bobs that dta have to offer
just to add if anyone doubts this come and drive mine
oh before anyone else decides to slate a ecu against another read up and try and test as you will be suprised in the results

so you've spent literally hundreds (probably thousands)on an ecu,and you can't tell the difference from a L8 when driving? sounds good
i don't think Stu is going L8 for a start (L6) but i also don't think he's that interested in 'extras'
finally i also think he'd have stuck with DTA had the monkey who built the car put a proper loom on it!!

my hole budget spent on the car complete is 6k thats the hole car plus a couple of hundred in fuel martin
and yes a new loom could of been done for less that 500
fact is spent more money than needed to replace a perfectly good ecu

also to add, the existing loom couldn't be removed because the previous owner had wired it into the car loom, and only used about 3 colours
note: the above statement is only what i can remember , so may be missing some info
Cheers Martin,
I would have stuck with DTA if the loom was ok, I tied with the idea of getting a new loom from dta (cost around 700) but cossie management and a new dingy loom was going to be the best for drivability, and "nice car to drive" factor.
Never really liked the way DTA managed the engine to start with really, just felt clumsy so to speak.
Awaiting the phone call

obiviously was not mapped right from the start as for drivability again someone who can map it would sort it no probs
