Default s1 rs turbo cuts out and won't start

last night me an a mate were about to go out in his s1 for abit of a cruise. he had the car running in his drive all fine warming up.

as we were just about to get into the car the car, it just cut out and stopped running, like someone had just pulled the plug on it.

we checked everything we could in the dark, fuel pump priming perfect and working, cranking over and getting good spark aswell but won't fire up for some reason and run?
it starts up abit when u turn it over first as if it wants to start run but then goes back to continuing just turning over and over again.

always when u go to start it again it tries to run kinda for the first 2 seconds then continues just turning over.

any ideas, its a weird one and has got us both baffled an him well pissed off.

has a full tank of petrol aswell so it aint that. Seriouslly just cut out like someone had pulled the power lead off the car and just stalled.

any ideas or what to check it just a stage1 series 1 rs turbo.

chers in advance

Look for hoses that are split or come off

think it may have been fixed, dodgy connection on fuel pump relay. all fixed an re-soldered correctly.

no fuel was coming up to airflow meter to fire it, gonna try an see what happens, well strange. think it might of been intermittent connection problem on fuel relay.

pretty sure it gonna be an electrical issue, fuel relay or ecu's or middle little yellow relay, coz from running then to switch off, like it'd had the plug pulled on it, was strange.

The fuel pump relays are prone to playing up where they get kicked being up under the dash. Other than that the relays are very reliable, easy fixed with a soldering iron
