i know that this is the pin that the signal wire goes to from teh ecu,, but when i tested it with my voltmeter there was about 4.6 volt output from pin 20 with the ignition on,
is this correct. only reason im asking is due to the fact that i thought it was suppose to be an input wire and not give an output voltage.

 

Sensors usually use a 5v reference voltage so it could be an input. Most actuators and actuating devices will require 12v to work.

 

that sounds like good news to me, so its totally normal for there to be a 5 volt output from the ecu at pin 20.

 

I can't remember what pin 20 does but if it's for a sensor then yes it will be normall to have 5 volts there.
