Default block pics, wot is it!??

block pics as requested, one of the pistons-
stamped 85.27 and 0.5+
i've roughly measured the bores of the block and there approx 85.5mm-

showing the top of the block and oil filter position
the smallest gap is 6mm between each of the bores-

showing the blocks stamp, cvh-

showing a number on the block positioned behind piston one-

And i measured the standard gasket, its only approx 83mm safechav the metal edge of it gasket is pressed where it averhung

Thats a CVH alright.

And thats a big old re-bore

ooooooo, and looking at the back, me thinks that could be a 1.9 long stroke motor

Bet your glad i thought of it then! Thats gota be a fuckin mental motor?! I wonder what cubic capacity that is?!?!?!

i did think that once i saw the cvh casting mark- even specialized engines only go to 83mm on the tall block 1.9s so i'm a bit stumped tbh

if it is a 88mm stroke with 85.5 mm bore would make it 2.0

it could be a usa block as they made them in 1.9 and 2.0 in 1997

i've ordered another felpro gasket as there the only place that deals with this size bore on a cvh- i didn't know they did a 2litre cvh aswell in usa
hopefully go gotech sometime soon, as u said safechav the mfi strugles with it as its is- i've always wondered why my fuel economy sucks so much

looks like its an overbored 1900 tall block that takes the capacity to roughly 2litre
now all i have to work out is why the smart- ass bolted a zetec sump to it

cant be a 1.8 as the bore size would be the same as the 1.6 with a 88mm stroke and theres no way you can bore a 1.6 out that much

so it must have be a tall block with 88mm stroke and the 85.5 bore which makes it 2.0

could be one of ferridays 2.0 blocks tho

i've got a machining receipt that states overboring was carried out in order to accept 2litre zetec pistons- but its a sketchy receipt, cash in hand sorta thing so i always thought it was crap- kinda seems possible now using a 1.9 block as a starting point
