Speedo needle loves a wobble
I personally would just put it down to primitive mechanical instruments, that are 14-20 years old
Ive seen it on allsorts of makes/models of cars, it usually only wobbles within a certain speed, and is fine when below or above it

also have experienced it on other rst's also on my old diesel van
coincidence it may be but if it solves the speedo wobble then who cares

A wobbly needle can onyl really be caused by a worn instrument or a fluctuating output on the speedo drive. Hence why i can't see a leaky seal doing it.
Were you talking about the driveshaft oil seals?

not 100% sure what actual seal it is,ill try and get the info over the weekend if i see him,but its defo a strip down box job to get to them i mind that much
just off phone to him there, its not the diff seals,my mistake, its the diff bearings and says its only a matter of time before total failure and even more so if its gettin hammered

Usually, when the diff bearings wear out, the diff starts to move in directions it's not meant to. This will wear out the shaft oil seals and the plastic (red) speedo drive gear.
The speedo drive ger can be pulled out easily, so it's best to check tht first. If it's gone to a concave shape, then the bearings have definately gone.

Always found a wobbly speedo was due to one thing on Fords, lack of grease on the end which plugs into the back of the clocks. Take it out and grease it, replace it and it's should work perfectly.
